Aarhus Haandværkerforenings laugssal genopført
The aarhus Craft association’s guildhall reopens
Resumé
The Aarhus Craft Association’s guildhall from 1931 has been reopened this year in Den Gamle By. The hall has earlier been moved three times, and on its reinstatement several of the original elements
were missing: the coffered ceiling, the oak parquetry floor, fixed benches, leaded windowpanes and wall decorations. The craftsmen and drawing office of Den Gamle By were given the task of restoring the hall to its original appearance. With a starting point in the original guild notices and with the aid of old photos and drawings the newly produced elements were fitted in as in a large jigsaw puzzle.
