New and old meet
Den Gamle By is having a new main entrance built south of the museum and with a facade out towards the city of Aarhus. In 2018 the architectural firm Cubo won an architectural competition with a proposal which fully met the requirements of Den Gamle By for visibility, good functionality and and a strong architectural concept. The building will also be an invitation to a journey through time that begins in the present and leads on into the ‘neighbourhoods’ of Den Gamle By, which go back stepwise in time.
